Terms of Service for hosted Tabula workspaces
Last updated: 16 October 2026.
These terms are between you, the customer who starts a workspace, and Saldes Technology Group AB, org. no. 559391-2776, Landbackegatan 14, 212 30 Malmö, Sweden ("Tabula", "we"). Contact: legal@gettabula.app.
1. What these terms cover
The hosted service: a Tabula workspace we run for you at its own address, such as acme.thetabula.cloud. They do not cover the software. You can get the software from GitHub and run it yourself for your own team at no charge under the software's own licence (the Functional Source License 1.1, see the LICENSE file in the repository), and these terms do not apply to that.
2. This is a beta
The hosted service is in beta. We are a small team and still building. Some things will change and some will break. We do not promise any uptime or availability during the beta, and we do not promise what we have not built.
3. Your workspace
One workspace per customer, on its own small machine with its own storage, in the region you choose at signup: Fly.io's Amsterdam region (EU) or Ashburn, Virginia (US). Our control plane and email relay run in Amsterdam whichever region you choose. The machine stops when nobody is using the workspace and wakes when someone opens it, so the first load after a pause can take a few seconds.
Invite as many members and guests as you like and make as many boards as you like. There is no charge per person or per board.
Fair use. The price pays for one machine. If your workspace needs a bigger one, because of how many people use it at once or how much it stores, we may ask you to move to a larger tier or pay for the larger machine. We will talk to you first. We make no promise about how many people can work at once, and no performance promise.
4. Plan and price
One plan, Tabula Standard: €29 per workspace per month or €290 per year, excluding VAT. Stripe Tax adds VAT at checkout from your billing address and VAT number. Payment is by card through Stripe; we never see your card details.
Founding price (time-limited promotion). A workspace started on or before 31 December 2026 pays €19 per month (€190 per year) for its first 12 months, then the list price. We may extend that date. Your first invoice shows the discount and when it ends.
Education and non-profits. Schools, teachers and non-profits get 50% off (€14.50 per month, €145 per year). Write to us during your trial with the name of your school or organisation and we apply it. We review it yearly; if you no longer qualify we remove it with a month's notice. The two discounts do not stack.
We may change prices from your next renewal with 30 days' notice by email.
5. Free trial
Every new workspace starts with a 7-day free trial with all features. We take a payment method up front. Your subscription starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. We show a notice in the workspace and email the owner about three days before.
6. Cancelling and refunds
The workspace owner can cancel at any time under Admin, Overview, Manage billing, which opens the Stripe customer portal. The subscription ends at the end of the current paid period and you keep using the workspace until then.
14-day money-back guarantee. If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, write to us and we refund that payment in full, whatever kind of customer you are. This is how we honour the consumer right of withdrawal, and we give it to businesses too. After those 14 days we do not refund partial periods, yearly plans included. You can switch between monthly and yearly in the same portal; the difference is prorated on your next invoice.
7. Unpaid or ended subscriptions
- Payment fails. The workspace keeps working for 7 days with a notice to update your payment method. Stripe retries and emails you.
- Read-only, for up to 14 more days. Everyone can see the boards; nobody can edit. The owner can still open Manage billing.
- Suspended. Still unpaid, or a cancelled subscription reaches the end of its period: the machine is stopped and the workspace cannot be opened. The suspended page shows the date your data is kept until and a button to restart.
- Deleted, 30 days after suspension. This cannot be undone. The address stays reserved for 90 days.
Pay again within the 30 days and the workspace comes back as it was.
8. Your content
Everything you put in your workspace belongs to you. You give us only the permission we need to store it, back it up and show it to the people you have given access. We do not look at your boards except as needed to run the service, to help you when you ask for support and give permission, or when the law requires it.
Export. You can export any board at any time from inside the workspace (.drift, JSON, SVG, PNG, Markdown) and use it elsewhere, including on your own self-hosted Tabula. Export while the workspace is live; a suspended workspace cannot be opened. If you need an export after suspension, write to us before the deletion date and we will wake it for you.
Backups. We keep daily snapshots of your workspace's storage for 14 days. If something goes wrong, write to us and we restore from a snapshot. Snapshots are our safety net for running the service, not a promise that a particular edit can be recovered. Off-site encrypted backups you control are planned as an add-on and are not sold yet.
AI. AI features run only when your administrator turns them on and enters your own API key. Board content is then sent to the provider you chose, under that provider's terms. We do not offer an AI service of our own yet.
9. People in your workspace
The owner decides who joins and in which role (owner, admin, member, guest). You are responsible for the people you invite and what they put in the workspace, and for having the right to add their personal data; we process it on your instructions (section 13). Keep your sign-in link private: anyone with it can sign in as you until it expires.
10. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, to store or share material you have no right to, to harm or harass people, to send spam, or to attack, overload or probe the service or other customers' workspaces. Do not resell it. If you break these rules we may suspend the workspace; we will say why and, where we can, let you fix it first.
11. Changes and ending the service
We update the software that runs your workspace; security updates are always installed. We may change these terms with at least 30 days' notice by email; you can cancel if you disagree. If we close the hosted service we give at least 60 days' notice and keep export available until then.
12. Liability
We provide the beta service as it is. To the extent Swedish law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss such as lost profit or lost data, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and for consumers nothing here limits the rights consumer law gives you.
13. Data protection
The Privacy Policy is part of these terms. For personal data your members put into the workspace, you are the controller and we are the processor on your instructions. A data processing agreement under GDPR article 28 is available on request as a schedule to these terms.
14. Law and disputes
Swedish law applies. Disputes go to Swedish courts, as first instance. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the protection of the law of the country you live in, you may bring a dispute in your own country's courts, and you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, arn.se) or the EU online dispute resolution platform.
