EU publishes AI Act quality management standard reference

On 19 October 2026 the European Commission announced that it has published the reference to EN 18286:2026, an AI Act harmonised standard, in the Official Journal [1]. Providers of high-risk AI systems that implement it are presumed to meet the Article 17 quality management requirements it covers [1].

EU regulators set out smart glasses and GDPR concerns for schools and workplaces

The European Data Protection Board adopted a statement on 13 October 2026 saying smart glasses should make recording obvious to bystanders. It names schools and workplaces as sensitive settings [1].
